Scientists are humans, and sometimes they fall in love. Telling the stories of scientists, the organisms they study, and the lives they lead outside the lab make my heart happy. And maybe more people will notice, and ultimately care about, the insects, plants and microbes underfoot and swirling in our air. Together, we can grow to appreciate how we are merely one of the many innumerable species that call our universe home, how lucky we are to experience life together, and how human connection promotes empathy and care.

But mostly, I write because I love love.
